This place was the best. After a rejuvenating dip in the private hot tub, you can take in the immense beauty of Mother Nature by sitting next to a fire in front of Alouette River. After waking up the next day, prepare for flavour overload with the provided breakfast. So good! Will come back for sure!

The place is amazing, tucked away in woods by the river. The sounds and smells from nature are instantly soothing. The space is great, you have everything you need for a relaxing vacation. I loved the heated floors in the bathroom and the fireplace. And of course the hot tub is wonderful! The breakfast was lovely, Shelley even left chocolate cake and other treats for us to enjoy. Our stay was short so unfortunately I didn’t make it to the park (which is just up the road, you’re about as close as you can be), but you are surrounded by nature anyway so I didn’t feel like I missed out. We rented a car from the airport, and the place was easy to find with Shelley’s directions. I can’t think of anything that would have made the stay better, I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. This place is a gem.

Very clean, exactly as described even with some unexpected extra touches that we very much enjoyed. Shelley and Greg were VERY responsive before and during our stay. We only met Greg in person during our stay. He was extremely kind and welcoming. This Airbnb is totally worth it and I can’t recommend it enough for a couple that is looking for a quiet, romantic getaway!

This place is amazing! Beautiful scenery, beautiful room, and an amazing host. The food was really good, and Shelley and Greg thought of everything: robes, bottled water for day hikes, and trail guides to the local parks were just a few of the perfect touches that made this weekend so great. The area was perfect for our rejuvenating peaceful getaway nestled amongst the trees along the river. Waking to the sound of the river, plentiful breakfasts, access to great hiking, close to market, pub, and even theatres; this place precisely met our needs. An evening soak in the hot tub was especially relaxing after our long hikes or the brisk river swim. Greg and Shelley are caring hospitable hosts, offering personalized tips of the area, and made our stay unique and tranquil.

We're not going to recommend it to anyone--because we want to keep this hidden gem to ourselves :) Seriously, this was exactly what we needed to get away and rejuvenate as a couple and enjoy the beauty of the creations that we take so much for granted. Greg and Shelley were excellent hosts. So many thoughtful touches and they took it to the next level by accommodating my dietary restrictions for breakfast, in a very tastey way! The GF "bear claw" cookies were a nice treat, along with the GF DF quiche's and frittata's. It's well stocked with everything you need. A BBQ is also available which we utilized for a nice steak dinner. Great location for a hike or a relax and a real treat if you love hummingbird's. Make sure you follow Greg's directions and NOT GPS. Ps We had a sneak peak at their "Glamping" setup, with a tent nestled in the trees, looks pretty cool!! Thank you so much Greg & Shelley for everything, we'll be back!

We could not have asked for a more lovely weekend getaway. Greg and Shelley have created a little oasis in the forest. Their property is gorgeous, right on the river. The glamping set up is delightful with every detail thought out. All of the amenities are there making it so easy to arrive and relax. Greg and Shelley were wonderful to us the entire time. We cannot wait to return!

The pictures of this site are great but they just don't do it justice .. you have to see this property ion person to fully enjoy what it has to offer. My lady and I were seeking a quiet, relaxing retreat for a couple of days and that is EXACTLY what we had. The hot tub, the massage table, the comfortable bed, the decks and lookout points, the rolling river and finally the breakfast foods .. omg, we were definitely spoiled. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They provided hiking notes and suggested restaurants. They even offered to have flowers waiting in the suite! We will return for sure ... a highly recommended stay for couples.

Absolutely stunning location with excellent accommodation with attention to the details that made for a very relaxing stay. The kitchen with BBQ have everything one needs to make all your meals there if needed. The bed is very comfortable and the view of the river from the private forest patio is amazing. The outdoor shower was an added touch that was fantastic and made us wonder why we don't have one at home! We highly recommend this unique and peaceful location! Shelley and Greg were wonderful and attentive hosts and they even offered us late checkout :)

Shelley and Greg have a fantastic place in the forest! A lovely little getaway from the city. They were gracious hosts, showed us around and answered any questions we had. The breakfasts were yummy and the sound of the river at night/in the morning is so nice to wake up/fall asleep to! So relaxing! We can't wait to come back. :)

The Forested Riverside B&B Private Suite exceeded our expectations. Greg and Shelley have been spectacular hosts! They are very friendly, caring, hard working and accommodation to our needs. Great little getaway tucked close enough to Vancouver so you dont have a long drive but far enough away so that you feel like you have escaped city life. Stunning place and a short trips to hikes near Alouette Lake, wonderful way to unwind. Great hospitality and beautiful location. The room and house are close together but because we had a separate entrance we always felt like we had lots of privacy.

What a great stay! Shelley and Greg were great hosts. There if we had a question, and otherwise left us alone to relax and enjoy their beautiful place. Had a great tour when we arrived, then got to enjoy all the hot tubing and walking around their land that we wanted. Would definitely go back.

If you are looking for an out of the way, magical place to re-charge your batteries, this is the place. Minutes away from the normal urban amenities, but a million miles away from the hustle and bustle. Literally on the river bank with amazing patios and walkways. Breakfast menus were tremendous. Hate to be so complementary for this hidden gem, would rather it be available any time we wish!

Cozy and Private. It was everything I was hoping it would be! The owners are very kind and ready to help. They made us special anniversary cookies and wonderful breakfasts. I definitely recommend....except for the next time we want it to be available. We want to come back in a warmer season to enjoy the beautiful decks and reverend some hiking.

We absolutely fell in love with his B&B. Shelley and Greg are wonderful, privacy- and comfort- oriented hosts. You can tell she goes above and beyond to consider her guests and all the potential niceties/scenarios that they might encounter. This is a great place to relax with nature while having all the amenities you need.Shelley and Greg are great hosts and their property is stunning, pictures don't do it justice. The fire ban just lifted and Greg set up everything we needed to build a fire,including marshmallows! A wonderful place to stay, I would definitely recommend to couples looking for some r&r.

Adorable cabin suite attached to owners's home, but very private with hot tub right outside your door! Great breakfasts left for us each day and walk right out your door down a path to the river with several outdoor seating areas! Super close to beautiful hiking at Golden Ears Provencial Park and lots of restaurants in downtown Maple Ridge a short drive away. About an hour drive from downtown Vancouver (spent a rainy day there.) Hosts are very nice and helpful!

We had a great time at Shelley and Greg's. The room was quiet and comfortable with a private entrance. The variety of decks are great for lounging and listening to the river. We were able to grill a tasty dinner for ourselves on one of the decks, and Shelley provided homemade breakfasts for us. The hot tub is a nice bonus that we took advantage of. They kept it very clean and ready to go.

Shelley and Greg's BnB was beyond our expectations. The location is perfect. Just a short drive to the lake where you can canoe, kayak, swim and hike (highly recommended). Shelley and Greg were extremely lovely, welcoming and fantastic hosts. A menu every morning with complimentary breakfast was a beautiful touch and Gregs biscuits were amazing! The river on the property is beautiful and great for swimming. 10/10 will be back. Thanks again for having us, we will be back..maybe for a clamping trip!

This is an excellent private room with great hospitality. The location has a peaceful access to the river with lots of seating. We took advantage of the close proximity to Golden Ears Provincial Park to go hiking. Shelley provided a tasty breakfast both days and the portions were just right. We also very much enjoyed the hot tub located right outside the door. I found our vacation relaxing and would definitely do it again.

Shelley's place is even better than described, very clean, private and cabin like. We especially liked the forested setting and outdoor hot tub, and it's only steps away from the water. We tried the hot stone massage with the massage table and stones the host provided. It was fun. Breakfast was lovely. A lot of thoughtful little surprises in the room :) We will indeed visit again in the summer.

Shelley's place was a great experience. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay there. The room was even nicer than in the pictures. The hot tub outside was really nice. Shelley and her husband Greg were excellent hosts. Despite a power outage for only a few hours ( it was a very heavy snowstorm) Shelley and Greg cooked us dinner and brought us beer because they felt bad for the power being out although it was only a minor inconvenience for a short time. Very great hosts and great experience. 10/10 would stay here again!

Exceptional! Much Needed Retreat 🩵🦋
My husband and I loved our stay at the glamping tent. If being close to nature is what you are looking for without really going too far (I'm from Surrey), nothing is more perfect than this spot. The site is very private and feels like you are somewhere deep in the forest but you are actually close enough to everything else on a short drive. The tent is further down the main property accessible through a wooden walkway, towards the river and is nestled on a wooden platform, above the river, so the sound of the water below is a great welcome and constant reminder to relax and enjoy nature. The tent faces the river below which can be viewed from the balcony or inside the tent in the luxury of your very comfortable and romantic four post bed. The area is surrounded by greenery and tall trees so bathing and showering outside in privacy but surrounded by pure nature is bliss. A kitchen, inside bathroom/shower on top of the outside tub and outside shower are steps away from the tent. We were very relaxed and we had everything we needed and more. Greg and Shelley thought of everything to ensure comfort and relaxation for their guests. I love all the little touches and they were also very quick to reply for additional needs and questions. We are definitely telling our friends about this amazing gem and we will definitely be back! Thanks Greg and Shelley!

This is so much more than what’s expected. What a beautiful piece of calm. The sound of the river is meditation. This place includes beautiful surroundings and all the comforts. Amazing Glamping tent Experience
Greg and Shelly’s glamping tent is a hidden Gem. The host is great and very accommodating. Greg let us borrow the fish rod and even gave us a little training to catch fish. Tent and the environment is very romantic and river water sound is very fascinating. The tent has everything one needs. we recommend this and would come back for sure.

Stunning!
Greg and Shelly’s glamping tent is a slice of paradise. The location is unbeatable with every amenity you can think of. The new soaker tub was an absolute treat at the end of the night to just soak and enjoy a glass of wine. The kitchen is well stocked with every possibly appliance (even a blender!) and we were so grateful for the coffee pods and the granola bars and other little snacks that were left for us. The hosts are thoughtful to the point to even leave earplugs/slippers and even bathrobes! And how can I not mention the little private pond and the floaties! Every inch of the property is beautiful and Greg and Shelly are amazing hosts. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed my first experience glamping . We were camping among all the trees and a stones throw from the Alluette River. We had complete privacy and comfort. The deck that the large tent was on had a small kitchen a full bathroom with shower even though we used the outdoor shower. The whole setup sort of reminded me of a old movie when I was a boy Swiss Family Robinson. Didn't see any monkeys or parrots but I did see a few trout jumping in the river .

We had the best, most relaxing stay here. From falling asleep to the sounds of the river and waking up to morning coffee in the tree’s! Followed by swimming, walking our dog and barbecuing on the private patio. Shelley and Greg are excellent hosts and have made their property into an oasis away from the city. We will be back!

Glamping Taken To Another Level!
We stayed at the Glamping tent and it is perfect. From the comfy bed, the sound of the river lulling you to a peaceful state, the absolute privacy, the deck to hang out on for morning coffee, the perfect little kitchenette, and the outdoor shower (yes there is an indoor one as well) you will feel like you’ve arrived at heaven - this is glamping in style! And on top of all of this you have the island to hang out on have a campfire or chill in the muskoka chairs by the river or better yet float down the river - Greg and Shelley’s has it all! The kitchenette is well equipped as is the bathroom toiletries. Can’t wait to return again! Great hosts and great spot!

Greg was such a lovely host. He checked in with us multiple times before our trip, offering us accommodations in case we needed or wanted any. He came out to meet us when we arrived at the location and was very quick to respond if we had any questions. The location is absolutely beautiful, it really makes you feel like you’ve gone far out of the city for a getaway. We came in the middle of November for our wedding anniversary and everything was so comfortable and cozy. We really enjoyed being able to cook on the barbecue which is very well taken care of. Propane was in abundance and all hooked up, and the outside dining area was well covered with tarps. It was lovely to watch the raging river as we ate our breakfast. There are so many details that are so well thought out about this little place. The owners have fairy lights and motion-sensor activated lights all around the property so it’s easy to get around and even cook in the dark. They laid down some rubber tiles on the stairs so that it would be easy to get up and down despite rain or snow. They even provide a massage table in case you want to have some relaxation time. Our favourite part of the trip was the outdoor hot tub! It’s right outside the door so even in fall/winter the cold doesn’t affect you too much. Greg made sure it was nice and hot before we arrived and the hot tub itself was very well-maintained. We would definitely come back again. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy :)

Greg and Shelley were an absolute delight. Beautiful riverfront property with a cabin like feel to their cute little basement suite. Heated floors in the bathroom, massage table, bbq outside, two person tub for you and your spouse. Much needed get away and I felt that they are very caring and accommodating hosts. We absolutely needed this little get away as we’ve both been busy and haven’t seen eachother in almost two months, if we ever feel like a beautiful setting for a relaxing time we will absolutely be back again! Being close to the park too you’re close to some great hikes if you so desire. Can’t say enough good things. Good people, good accommodation, if you’re reading this and unsure please just do it, as long as you’re fine with cooking on a bbq (and why wouldn’t you be?) you’re going to love your time here.

A great choice for your getaway!
My friend and I loved staying here! The host was helpful and kind and the property is beautiful. Right beside the Alouette river gave plenty of great people watching opportunities, the hot tub was nice to have and it was in a quiet location. Perfect for reading and journalling. Hidden deep woods river escape!
If you are considering booking, go ahead and BOOK! Greg and Shelley are remarkable hosts with a truly breathtaking property. The second you arrive, you are greeted by the peace of deep woods and the rolling river. We spent our time sunbathing, swimming in the endless river spots, warming up in the jacuzzi, grilling on the (very nice) BBQ and reading at the endless seating options all around the property! If you’re looking for peace and tranquility, this is IT! We saw otters, so many species of birds, and baby ducks riding their mother’s back. Besides a breathtaking location, you can truly tell that Shelley and Greg care about sharing the magic of their property with their guests. They were so hospitable! Everything you needed was provided. My friend forgot her toothbrush, and voila, there was a fresh toothbrush and toothpaste waiting for her! What a spa/hotel like atmosphere they have created in the woods. And the best part, it’s an easy (and I mean easy) hour drive from Vancouver. Thank you so much, I will surely be back!

Greg's place is like a forest oasis, perfect for our honeymoon. All the little outdoor decorations and overall layout were very charming and whimsical. We got lucky and had a warm sunny day and we enjoyed floating for hours in their little private lake area as well as sticking our feet in the flowing river. We saw no bears but we saw lots of deer and other little critters while we were out there. Our actual lodging was like a cozy cabin. The bed was extremely comfortable and we appreciated all the amenities. We had to use our own laptop to access our streaming services, but Greg provided a great variety of DVD's. We would definitely stay again!

Great location!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was as advertised and we didn't have any issues. The location is at the base of the Golden Ears Provential Park and a short ride to shopping and restaurants. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The river views from our private deck area were stunning. Much better than a hotel stay. We hope to come back!

Luxurious glamping experience
Greg & Shelley's amazing listing was stunning on so many different levels. Greg & Shelley were warm, welcoming, and extremely hospitable. They were always very responsive and went above and beyond by providing additional smaller additions like snacks, floaties, and much more. The listing property itself is very secluded, with its own private access to a ideal stretch of the river that you can spend a full day just relaxing at. All lodging amenities seemed brand new, very well remodeled with top quality things like a hot tub and full sized grill. The ambiance and design looked professionally constructed with many cool hangout spots like a grill patio overlooking the river. I would easily recommend this spot to all of my friends, and I look forward to rebooking here again in the future!

Glamping In style!
We flew out to spend some time with my son and his wife and this space along with the glamping tent was fantastic and perfect. The suite was fantastic! Comfy bed, big bathroom, fireplace and all the amenities you need to cook up your meals. BBQ works fantastic and the dinner and lounging deck is a great space. With the sound of the river you will feel like you have found a peace of heaven. The island is a great place to hang out, have a fire or go and chill in the muskoka chairs by the river. Thank you for a great little vaca for our family to spend some quality time together. Greg and Shelley are great hosts!

Perfect weekend getaway
We had the most relaxing couple of days at Greg and Shelley’s place. It’s got everything we needed. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of the stream and birds chirping, grilling our food in the outdoor patio nestled amongst the trees—and of course—relaxing in the hot tub after a short trail hike in the Golden Ears camping area. This place is truly a gem and is perfect for a quiet couple retreat. Will definitely be back!

Cozy Cabin in the B.C Mountains!
I really enjoyed staying at Greg and Shelley’s place as did the people I was with. The land is actually quite gorgeous as there is a river located on the property. It’s quiet and it’s very cozy. You get a very good Outdoor Cozy Cabin Vibe at this place while being relatively close to the city. It’s the best of both worlds IMO. Greg and Shelley are also very accommodating while being awesome hosts. We tried staying in the city but felt the experience wasn’t for us. We are very glad we found this Cabin as it made the overall trip much much better for us. Honestly the highlight of our 5 day vacation in B.C was staying at the Cabin. The experience and vibe can’t really be beat. I hope to be back in the Summer to TUBE that river in the back. Thanks Greg and Shelley for the experience, we appreciate it!

Greg and Shirley were amazing hosts. This spot is exactly what we were hoping it would be. So chill and beautiful and very private. The tent was beyond comfortable and the site comes with everything u would need aside from food and clothes. Literally it is stocked like my kitchen and bathroom are at home. The outdoor shower is great and floating on the river was a lot of fun. The only issue is that the pictures don’t do it justice and should be updated. Exceeded expectations.

Greg and Shelley are wonderful hosts and have done an incredible job at creating this romantic little piece of heaven on the river.
I honestly don’t have a single complaint and wouldn’t have changed anything about this experience ( except maybe a longer stay 😆)
The place was spotless , the bed was incredibly comfortable ( words I rarely say when leaving a review) and the view and set up on the property is truly magical.
We can’t wait to visit again !

Amazing stay in an amazing location. The host is very accommodating, gave me a nice tour of the property and the amenities. Only a few minutes away from Maple Ridge but feels like the middle of no where.
The swimming holes on the property are very refreshing!
I wouldn’t want to try that bridge after a few drinks though.
I will stay here again on my next trip.

Beautiful peaceful retreat
My parents were visiting us from Ontario and I booked Shelly and Greg’s retreat for them as our house is too small to host family. The property is a beautiful oasis right beside Golden Ears Park. The many wood patios and deck areas were great to visit with my parents. The Alouette River runs directly beneath and the calming sound is so nice to relax. My parents Mary and Lloyd enjoyed the soft high bed and the hot tub and gardens. They used the kitchen for breakfast and lunch and BBQ on the patio of dinner. We enjoyed a family get together on deck and a swim in the river. Enchanting and charming gardens and surrounding forest. Shelly and Greg are incredible hosts and brought fresh blue berries and goodies for my parents. We will absolutely book with them again!

Quiet stay in the woods
Lovely quaint stay in the woods but also close enough to town. Once we got there we didn't want to leave, a great escape from the city. Greg was great and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Will try and be back for the summer season when we can take full advantage of their amazing river walkways and patios.

Riverside suite
Greg and Shelly were amazing hosts. The directions to their place can be tricky, so they preemptively sent us directions and reached out via text to confirm our arrival. The suite is extremely private, even though they are living on the other side of the house. It’s very cozy, the pictures don’t do it justice. There was even a massage table and everything needed for hot rocks. The kitchenette had Kraft dinner, oatmeal, popcorn, coffee, various other snacks, as well as fresh milk and condiments used for bbqing. The bathroom had heated floors, and 5 lighting options. The out door bbq area was very well kept, and the Suspension bridge out to the private island was a very peaceful spot to hang out. Overall the property was stunning and the suite was far above expectations!

The pictures of this site are great but they just don't do it justice .. you have to see this property ion person to fully enjoy what it has to offer. My lady and I were seeking a quiet, relaxing retreat for a couple of days and that is EXACTLY what we had. The hot tub, the massage table, the comfortable bed, the decks and lookout points, the rolling river and finally the breakfast foods .. omg, we were definitely spoiled. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. They provided hiking notes and suggested restaurants. They even offered to have flowers waiting in the suite! We will return for sure ... a highly recommended stay for couples.

We could not have asked for a more lovely weekend getaway. Greg and Shelley have created a little oasis in the forest. Their property is gorgeous, right on the river. The glamping set up is delightful with every detail thought out. All of the amenities are there making it so easy to arrive and relax. Greg and Shelley were wonderful to us the entire time. We cannot wait to return!

Great little getaway tucked close enough to Vancouver so you dont have a long drive but far enough away so that you feel like you have escaped city life. Stunning place and a short trips to hikes near Alouette Lake, wonderful way to unwind. Great hospitality and beautiful location. The room and house are close together but because we had a separate entrance we always felt like we had lots of privacy.

Absolutely stunning location with excellent accommodation with attention to the details that made for a very relaxing stay. The kitchen with BBQ have everything one needs to make all your meals there if needed. The bed is very comfortable and the view of the river from the private forest patio is amazing. The outdoor shower was an added touch that was fantastic and made us wonder why we don't have one at home! We highly recommend this unique and peaceful location! Shelley and Greg were wonderful and attentive hosts and they even offered us late checkout :)

Spend a couple days in paradise with sound of the river, hot tub, fireplace and beautiful, lush surroundings. Highly recommended staying at Alouette to escape the city and find relaxation.
This is a special place. The river is beautiful and the hosts are very accommodating. A great weekend getaway from the city.
